I'm now dfa 28-105 user!!!

Thanks to all advisors here and a special thanks to Adam.
Today I bought a dfa 28-105 from my old and trusted store Alsalam store Abu Dhabi.
I tested the lens to avoid any decentering issue. It is perfect and has a silent smooth drive focus motor. It is almost silent may be the focus ring of the camera is higher than it.
Sharpeness is promising and the color rendering is similar to the prime lenses. The contrast is amazing.
The harmony with the camera is noticeable. Thanks Pentax you made a very good kit lens though the price has to be like competitors or make it 400$
At this price you can attract more consumers to the system as fuji did with the excellent kit lens XF 18-55.

I got the DFA24-70 as general purpose lens and landscape... but given the depth of field on FF at f2.8, I wonder if I shouldn't have gotten the DFA28-105 instead. Because I shot a lot at f8 , f11 , f16 and up to f22... and so the DFA28-105 would be more versatile.

But you got extra 4mm and this important for landscape work.

And you can always stop down which you probably are doing anyways for landscape photos. The 28-105 is tempting thou

is there any comparisons out there between the DFA 28-105 and the DFA 24-70?

I have the 24-70 and honestly, its damn heavy. Like to the point where it becomes hard to actually walk around with it for long periods of time. If there isn't a massive drop in quality the 28-105 may honestly be a better choice for many people specifically because of this.

I think the main advantage of dfa 24-70 over 28-105 is the constant aperture over variable aperture otherwise the 28-105 is beating it regarding the sharpness and versatility.

Can you point me to a test of that so I can see how big the difference is?

If you come from the DA*16-50 you wil be very dissapointed at missing the 4 wide mm. That is why I got the 15-30 as well. But that lens is even bulkier than the 24-70 and to be honest , I see myself gettin the 24-70 as well. I don't see myself slogging around all the time with the 15-30 when I "need" something wider
