Yeah he doesn't yield much ground does he!?

He didn't correct the comments made about PixelShift either, which were seemingly not processed using Pentax' own software.

I think Tony has a certain... style to him, he's like a pretty boy with a hot wife. He's kind of acting like he's popular and stuff (and maybe he is). However, he didn't have to make this "attack of the pentaxians" video. He owes no-one anything. Maybe he's biased. I think he is actually, and part of that may have to do with his style, but then I can say the same for most people here. Now, some will argue that he has a Youtube channel with 500.000 subscribers and thus he shouldn't be biased, and maybe in a perfect world that's true. But this isn't a perfect world. And besides, his isn't the only Youtube channel that has done a review on the K-1. Opinions differ, and his is just one. If he knows he is authentic to himself, then it's ok with me. Doesn't mean I agree with what he says, but it does mean I have no problem with him expressing his opinion.

500.000 subscribers which of whom most shoot canon. It pays to be biased.

just think of all the cordon bleu chefs that have been turned down by McDonalds in favor of minimum wage burger flippers.

Sad to say you'd probably be surprised as to how many people actually feel this is true.

Like I've said, some of what he said were true. And of course he's biased. Whatever he says is his opinion and that's something we either accept or reject. I know Pentax isn't as great in sports compare to canikon. But that's not going to kill us. Whatever decision we make is ours and nobody else's. So I would rather leave his video at that. His second video isn't a sorry video but a justification of what he said and it's something I wouldn't really care about.

To be honest, if you look at where Tony Northrup is coming from, it's pretty fair comment - people making a buying decision who are familiar with other brands but not with Pentax will not immediately see all the things we see as being great about Pentax, and in the end what did he say? Pentax range of modern FF lenses isn't the best - we know that. Pentax AF isn't the best - we know that . What Pentax set out to do with this camera - make a great 'field camera' - they succeeded in superbly - I hope we know that. Even the comparing of new with old is fair from that point of view. Yes he missed a few things and yes he reviewed it in terms of how it suited his personal style, but I really don't think he was wilfully or actually unfair or biased. He was as unstinting with praise where deserved as with criticism where deserved - that's his style, and I prefer it to - find it more useful than - gushing over something or being more interested in yourself than what you're reviewing. I think he works hard, and I respect his opinions, even when I don't agree with them.

On that basis, you have a very good point.

They make fast food that is predictable all around the world - you can always find the basic staples everywhere - and while there is always a better burger somewhere else, it's nice to know you can walk into any of their places and know in advance what you're getting. Everything in its right place, and in the right context. Yes, of course it's unhealthy - but I admit the fact to myself when I go in there, and I know that what I'm buying is a calorie and cholesterol-rich indulgence. Anyone who thinks it's the 24/7 basis for a healthy diet is deluding themselves.

Is that a quality? To me it sound like you prefer to watch the same movie over and over again, in stead of watching new ones. When I go to a restaurant I prefer variety.

No. LIke I said, there's always something better somewhere else, but sometimes, e.g. if I'm tired, hungry and just got off a fifteen-hour airplane flight, or if I want something - anything - in my stomach in a hurry so I can get on with other things, boring-but-familiar is a nice option to have.

There are movies that I watch over and over. About twenty of them. Some every year, some less often.

A few are a holiday tradition, just like the American Thanksgiving turkey dinner. I know all the good lines in advance.

The rest are comfort food for the soul - to be consumed once every few years and then put back on the shelf.
