Wireless Triggers

So I've done a bit of searching and can't seem to find the right answer, but I am hoping to find some wireless triggers. I just got a K-1 after selling all my Canon gear. I had a K200D about 6 years ago and loved it. Could never get the 7D to make pictures as well as it did(Probably that CCD in the K200D).

For the Canon I used Yongnuo 603 Wireless flash triggers to activate the shutter. I see that the K-1 has IR sensors in front and back, but I am sometimes out of direct line of sight of the camera and the RF-603's were awesome for triggering the shutter exactly when I needed.

Since Yongnuo doesn't make a Pentax version, what do I need to buy to get a working set with the Pentax? I sold off the triggers thinking I would need a new set, but it seems that maybe they would have worked with a new cable, but I can't seem to find that answer.

Yes, your Canon RF-603s would have worked. Sounds like you are speaking of just using them as shutter triggers and not flash triggers. The Nikon version of the RF-603s are a little better for Pentax with flash, because they wake from sleep for Pentax, vs the Canon ones do not. As far as the cable goes, it is just a standard audio cable on both ends, 3.5mm? I don't think the Nikon version comes with that cable. If you think you might use them for flash in the future, the newer RF-605s have an LCD screen on them, but are about $10 more and are a little bigger.

I do occasionally use them for their intended purpose. So you would recommend the Nikon version?

These?

And the headphone jack is the typical 2.5mm headphone jack correct? So this cable would probably work?

I've used the Vello Shutterboss for light-paintings on K20 & K3 without any failures, haven't tried on K1 yet but imagine will work. Worked well past 30ft through stone walls.
Also use the Yongnuo 560 for flash trigger & Nikon version does wake from sleep mode.
If you were happy with the Yongnuo, I'd stick with them, you'll get the dual purpose.

The Flashes, Lighting and Studio sub-forum on PF is worth exploring for Pentax flash related topics. A wealth of info and expertise ...

Also: the Cactus v6 radio trigger is something you should check out if you prefer manual flash.
