Nice shots

I didn't realize that you had the 15-30mm. Thought you only had the 24-70.

What are your impressions? I really like mine...except imho the hood is not sufficient. I sometimes have to use my hand to block stray light which is tough with a lens of this mass.
I just got it a week ago and haven't had a whole lot of time to post (or take photos) with it. I think I'm pretty impressed. It has very minimal distortion and is pretty flare resistant. It is definitely a chunk of a lens -- pretty similar in size to the 24-70, but kind of stubbier.

I'm comparing it to the DA 15 on APS-C and it is definitely sharper corner to corner -- my 15 needed to be at f8 to have decent corners -- it has more flare (but not bad at all) and is huge (you could probably put 10 DA 15s in the space of one 15-30.

The hood thing doesn't bother me too much. Most ultra wide angle lenses don't have a great hood -- particularly not the zooms.

A couple more pixel-shifted shots with the DFA 15-30.

This little moth has an inch to an inch and a half wingspan. The first image helps to give context to the second (different) image.

They are both pixel shift images. The second image is is a actual pixel crop with a magnification not quite 1:1.

Note the serrations/hairs on the trailing edge wing scales. These were not clearly visible in the non-PS images I took.

Thanks. That's from the OOC JPG, slightly processed. PCDU5 crashes when I try to do the raw, and I haven't had time to fix it. I trashed all the non-PS shots after I saw the difference.

Very awesome image! Amazing detail. PS is a fab tool, I love having that in the toolbox. Kinda enjoying making my D800/D810 owning friends jealous.

Nice shot, FS. Some people will say that the blue oval in the water is a pixel shift artifact but it is not. It is lens flare. I cannot see any pixel shift artifacts in the water which is amazing. Did you use motion correction in DCU for this shot?
