I have done the comparison before. Sometimes it's about even, sometimes the difference is spectacular.

All I can tell is that for example in case of landscapes, if there are trees in little windy weather, their leafs will appear smudged as they are moving during exposure. And mostly you see this kind of artifacts when you come back home.

That's why you need to use motion correction (either in RAW Therapee or DCU). It will take care of that, although if it is really windy, you're probably best off skipping the pixel shift completely.
