Here is my first experiment with pixel shift, taken at Odiham Castle in Hampshire. Overall I am very happy with the image and would like to try pixel shift on more challenging subjects. The 100% crop (Pic 2) shows the level of detail and sharpness present as well as the quite amazing dynamic range, as shown by the details in the archway and recess shadows. Unfortunately there are some artifacts in the background trees, even with Motion Correction turned on (Pic 3). However, this image was processed in DCU5 (bleh!) and that produced far fewer artifacts than Lightroom did. I really hope that Adobe pull their finger out and get around to supporting pixel shift properly soon.

Just got my K-1. Here is test with my SMC 500mm f/4.5..shot of my fence and cropped heavily.
ISO 400, 1/500, f/11 on tripod 2 sec delay timer.

Top image normal, bottom mage Pixel Shift. Noticeable difference.
I am waiting for my SMC 28mm f/3.5 older manual focus lens. Can't wait to shoot with that lens in normal mode or Pixel Shift.

I process into a 16bit tiff then import into Capture one (9) and work with the tiff
Hi again
I take some shots and process them in 16 bit tiff. Then open in LR but can't use lens profile because LR hás a lot of Pentax lenses but not the DFA 24-70. O have update Camera Raw and nothing. O can work with all the features except profile lens.
Late I will put an image.

That is true, but if you want to use a lens profile, you can do that in the Pentax digital camera utility prior to export. Down in the right lower corner there is an option for that. I don't tend to use it much as most of the time images are fine with that.

My process is to shoot the image and then develop it in DCU on my computer to a 16 bit TIFF file (using the movement control). I then finish development in Lightroom.

Basically the TIFF file is like a super file with a whole lot of resolution, color depth and dynamic range.

You are right that movement is useful for normal scenes and non-movement for studio/things that aren't moving at all.
Is need activate movement control in DCU to develope the image?
Thanks

The question is whether or not there is even a small amount of movement in the image. If you are taking a macro shot of a flower inside, you probably do not need to activate movement control, but if you take an image that has foliage in it outside and there is even a light breeze, then you had better have motion control on.

Finally my K-1 arrived, and I of course had to do a test image with pixel shift.

And it works.
Developed in DCU, sharpness turned down all the way.
Crop 400% (yes, I like to pixel peep).

And a test out in the wild. Not meant to be taken seriously though (over saturated for fun), it's mostly a test of resolution and sharpness of the K-1 and Samyang 24mm combo.

Yes, if you are developing a RAW file you have to choose what setting you want. Otherwise just shoot jpeg.

Here is one taken with Pixel Shift converted to JPEG
In DCU has the option to choose between Camera setting, OFF, ON (motion corretion ON ) and ON (motion corretion OFF). Just in case I choose Motion corretion ON. the original photo was taken in camera motion correction.

C1 Pro jpg conversion of pixel-shifted 16bit TIF o/p from DCU

After other posts on another forum re Pixel Shift resolution images, I posted the following (finding that Adobe Camera Raw does a better job than Digital Camera Utility) in resolving my example PS image:
