Just one of those things..... last year about the same time I got a similar shot with the DA10-17. I saw this one whilst working in the yard, I went and got the K-1, tripod and a 40" reflector ... set it all up and moved closer and closer to about MFD, had to squeeze the tripod legs together to get close enough... bent the round reflector in a big U and lit him up etc.... first with the white side...then with the silver.... didn't seem to bother him. He took off some time later.

Off course, if you went out to get the shot it would never happen!

The Williams Covered Bridge is located just outside of the small village of Williams Indiana, along Indiana state road 450. It crosses the east fork of the White River, just downstream from the Williams Dam, which used to be a electric power generating station.
The bridge is a Howe Truss design and was built in 1884 by Joseph ‘J.J.’ Daniels. Its two spans cover a total length of 373 feet (114 m), with a deck width of 14.7 feet (4.5 m) and a vertical clearance above deck of 19.2 feet (5.9 m).

Nice images, Matt! I especially like #1 with the blue of Venus belt rising up from that rock notch.

I'm just starting to play with PS -- did my first test shots from a local peak recently.

At first, I was amazed at the overall sharpness -- much sharper than a normal shot. Then I was horrified to see various checkerboard and zipper-edge artifacts where distant cars, not-so-distant foreground veg moved, and perhaps the camera shifted the tiniest amount. But finally I realized it's only visible at pixelpeeper resolutions and that the artifacts will disappear like a dither or halftone at a modest dpi.

There is quite a bit of detail in the crop considering you're using an ultraultrawide lens. And I appreciate you offering up an example SooC as it is much easier to get a feel for the lens and camera vs the lipstick and eyelinered photoshops.

I've really enjoyed the Sigma 12-24 DG even if it is physically large and optically slow. It's been great for low-distortion UWA landscape and architecture applications on the K-5 and now feels insanely wide on the K-1. It's sharp enough wide-open for astrophotography (f/4.5 & ISO 3200 does a nice job for meteors). And it's very sharp at 12mm & f/8 or f/9.5 although less sharp in the corners at 24mm.

As for SooC, that's my preferred workflow at the moment -- I'd rather be outside with my camera than inside with my computer.

A ten stop will almost always result in a >30s exposure meaning you can't use pixel shift with it. And if not, it would almost certainly affect the sharpness, it's an extra piece of glass/resin in the way. My Lee 10 stop certainly affects picture sharpness to some degree. More expensive ones like the Singh-Ray mor-slo might affect the sharpness less.

Dang, it doesn't work with the bulb timer. That's lame.
