If you -- for inexplicable reasons -- want to use P-TTL
As much as I enjoy shooting in full manual in my studio, I also enjoy shooting in PTTL when I'm taking quick pictures, at family events, when my kids are playing, etc. The two are not mutually exclusive. Also, when I lend my camera to someone else, I cannot expect them to be familiar with manual exposure. Not in this day and age.

Wedding photographers also mostly prefer TTL.

For people interested in a cheap but apparently good PTTL flash supporting HSS and apparently wireless PTTL, the Chinese company Shanny just released a flash (SG600 I think) which appears to fit all the requirements, for about 120$. I've heard good things about this flash on Nikon mount.

Andrea - consider using a single flash with an umbrella.

The results for "still life" (a general term for what you posted pics of) are awesome. Example: http://peter-ftp.co.uk/screenshots/2016-11-29_184039.jpg

I use a €10 umbrella from Amazon, a €10 flash tripod (not necessary because one can hand-hold the umbrella with the flashgun pointing into it) and a Yongnuo YN560 flash and hotshoe transmitter which together cost about €100.

No need for two flashguns, in most cases, and if I need some side light I hole a bit of paper there
