Help with K-1 Wi-Fi

I just got my own K-1 and am thrilled. I'm not sure how to use the Wi-Fi. I've turned it on, it shows up on my laptop, i've entered the password, but then I just get the endless searching symbol. Is the K-1s W-Fi function discussed somewhere on the forum?

Unfortunately, the K-1 is not compatible with computers. It's only compatible with cell phones and tablets using the Image Sync app from Ricoh.

As fwbigd said, the K-1 only officially supports Image Sync on Android/iOS. That's the app you can use to control the camera wirelessly, view live view, and download files.

If you really want to use it with a PC, decent results can be obtained via an Android emulator.

You can also use the Image Transmitter 2 software for the same functionality over USB, or the free Lightroom plugin for basic file transfers.

Double click, Adam??

In addition, hope that Richo extends the WiFi support to Windows as well in the near future. The current support really is inadequate.

For some reason some manufacturers of cameras with in-built WiFi seem to ignore desktop PC's.

Nikon are like Ricoh here - from what I can tell via Google, no software support to allow WiFi access to cameras like D750 or D7200 via Windows or Mac desktops, just WiFi access via 'smart devices' - ie phone or tablet support only. Strange.

I've been trying to get Amiduos android emulator to work on my win10 laptop but havenít gotten to point of testing Image Sync. What emulator(s) have worked?

Thanks,
RONC
