I have all of them. What should I buy now? A 645Z ? Too heavy for hiking.

Mine is not working that fine and I somehow envy you

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/190-pentax-k-1/323037-k1-stuck-manual-mod...ml#post3711775

I'm still waiting for the service to take action (on vacation until end of month... ) so I'll be stuck in manual mode for about 1,5 month! Good for improving my skills but disappointing...

I still take pictures and love my K-1 though, It's just that I'm frustrated as I can't use it as I would like (- many features are deactivated in M mode) and also because this is the first time I face some kind of malfunction with Pentax equipment... I guess this is the price some early adopters have to pay...

After shooting a few thousand images with the K-1, using various Pentax and third party lenses, and third party flashes, it has given me little reason to complain.

I would love to have a "custom" option in Av mode.setting so I can set the "minimum" shutter speed to say, 1/125 - that would correct mistakes I often times make.. I don't have the k-1 yet... but will definitely get one.

I read all sorts of problems with the K1. Beside some of the things such as layout of hardware user interface which I got used to, I really have nothing that I can work around to complain about. The K1 focuses quickly, and the sensor deliver great images. I just have to go out and take pictures, everything works, except sometimes my errors (shutter speed to slow or things like that). Just wondering if that's normal or if I should look for hidden troubles that I could complain about? Everything works fine = no drama = boring. No discussions about APSC vs FF since I can select both with the same camera. What should I do now?
biz-engineer unfortunately you may need to switch to another brand.

Try upgrading the user to a newer, stronger model.

I find that I have trouble, while on my inversion table at midnight in a driving rain storm with my wife screaming at me from the front porch and spotlighting me with a powerful LED flashlight, I have trouble getting a focus lock on a gnats a$$ perched on a petunia in the front flower bed. Other than that it functions just fine.

It was love at first sight. I got her Monday, August 1. We got married. And now we can't do without each other. She follows me everywhere - even on the job! No problems with her. She is so beautiful!

Ha. Gotcha. I found one fault on K1.
If you don't charge the battery or you don't insert the memory card, you can take NO PICTURES.
C'mon Ricoh, you can do better then that!!!!!!

Mine has been a good performer too. But they do have something about them If you pick one up and handle it you have to purchase it. That's what happened to me. I think that there is a secret mind control algorithm running on the WiFi system that can control your thought patterns.

I am tempted (indeed, now compelled) to drive to the other side of Lake Ontario and let normhead play with my K1. Once he is infected and succumbs to the temptation, Pentax will have won the day........................ Gee. Where did that thought come from?. I need to start wrapping my K1 in aluminum foil when not using it.

Mine works fine too!

Not one of my lens has needed any focus adjustment. Even the Sigma 18-35 F1.8 that was a fussy focusser on the K-5 just works on the K-1.

Love the big viewfinder, the awesome SR and massive files with so much detail.

Also still love using my K-5.

I'm obviously some Ricoh/Pentax fanboy ;-)
