Hot pixels are a fact of life and certainly not limited to sony sensors. Any sensor will exhibit them to some degree I suppose. In astrophotography the combination of high iso, and long exposure during hot summer nights do make things worse. DSS will detect and eliminate hot pixels with a dark frame, so I never worry about those.
