I did not shot the wedding with K-1, but the rodeo and baseball. I can say that the main advantage for upgrade to me would be high ISO performance (no flash for dances in poor light), and DR recovery. Plus it's easy to get that dreamy background while the lens is stopped down for decent sharpness. And I just love the articulated screen to shoot from the lower position.

Just because... if "The Viewfinder is the Soul of the Camera," the K-1 is Aretha Franklin and and Stevie Wonder, combined.

I just shot a wedding this past weekend with my K-1, and it worked great. One thing I was very pleased with, a few shots, TTL failed me, and shots were underexposed. Easily recovered 2 stops (lower ISO) and quality was still very good. I did a few shots also where I was happy I had the tilt screen. I would have just been guessing had I not had the screen to help me out.

Nearly 20 years ago my bride dashed down the stairs of our wedding venue. She was so excited and happy that it was just what she wanted to do. I'm glad she didn't fall!

From K5iis to K-1

I've done weddings with both cameras. I now use the K-5iis with the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 zoom as my backup camera. The K-5iis can produce great images but I like the bump in resolution and 1 stop lower noise when using the K-1. The auto white balance appears to work better on the K-1. I use all prime lenses on the K-1 and don't find that to be a problem when doing weddings.
