You should probably avoid examining any modern lens that has vibration reduction tech built into it too. Similar story, just not as noticeable as the little Sigmas (which don't even have vibration reduction as an excuse).

Too late, I already have a few IS/VR/OS lenses from Canon, Nikon And Pentax.

True. All the magnets and complex electronics in such cameras (and lenses) will probably be dead well before 30 years elapse. Everything will be bricked.

I get that noise/sound also. Like a small motor turning. Not very loud. Tried several types of lenses and always there.
