I am blown away with the magnificent 77mm on the K-1. The rendering is just superb and the depth in the images just sublime

I have used all 3 of the FA Limiteds on the K1. They really produce great photos.

The 77 is indeed impressive. I've never tried it on the K-3, since I only just purchased it (lucky find on Kijiji). I really like the results, but at the risk of being labeled a heretic I don't find it superior to the DFA 100 macro WR for portraits. I haven't seriously used it for long periods, however, my current review is time-consuming.

I think it's not as sharp as DFA100 macro, it is smoother with the f1.8 though, and the color rendering might be very different. The DFA100 macro is also called unofficially "Limited" by many Pentaxians so they are in the same league

I completely agree that the DFA macro WR should be called Limited. It even has the same body style (ridges, lettering, DOF scale, etc) as a FA limited.

I think some of my reservations might come from inexperience. I might not yet know how to better use it, to get the most out of it. Bokeh with the 77 is superb, but more busy than with the macro.

So it's undecided if I'll keep it or not.

I think the busy background is because of the distance between the subject and the background, please keep the FA77 for a little while you might fall in love with its rendering
