Originally posted by bdery I completely agree that the DFA macro WR should be called Limited. It even has the same body style (ridges, lettering, DOF scale, etc) as a FA limited.
I think some of my reservations might come from inexperience. I might not yet know how to better use it, to get the most out of it. Bokeh with the 77 is superb, but more busy than with the macro.
So it's undecided if I'll keep it or not.
The 100 is a bit easier to shoot and an all-round lens in my experience. The 77 in my use is more of a special lens that I dig up from the stash when I need to shoot people.
When I manage to get the working distance nailed with the 77, the results are preposterous (awesome) considering how badly I suck at photographing people (and I only do available light, because laaaazy...). When the moon and the stars align the 77 renders more beautifully than 100, which is analytical and less "artistic" in comparison. I hate to describe lenses in these vague terms as I'm usually a "measure it!" type of person, but in this case it cannot be helped.
As I side note the 100 is really easy to love and probably my most used lens on the K-1 currently.
