Windows 10 Image driver for K-1 PEF files

I have been looking for such a driver to be able to view native .PEF files in Windows 10 File Explorer.

I have it for Canon, I have it for Sony, can't seem to find it for Pentax.

Any suggestions, please?

I don't think so, there is only codec for older Windows and only 32bit on Ricoh site. PENTAX RAW codec software for Windows : Software Downloads | RICOH IMAGING

Microsoft has some available for 64 bit: Download Microsoft Camera Codec Pack (6.3.9721.0) from Official Microsoft Download Center but not working on Win10, there is an update for Win 8.1, also not working on Win10...

and a third party, not free... here: PEF Codec (Pentax RAW) for 64 bit Windows 8.x Desktop, Windows 7, Windows Vista, XP

Didn't try it as I only shoot in DNG.

'Drivers' are for the OS to talk to/use hardware.

Try FASTSTONE. It will view .pef files no problem.
Remember, all viewers view the embedded JPG, RAW isn't an image yet.

Is there any reason to use PEF instead of DNG?

This is the reason I shoot in DNG... basically no chance of unsupported conditions. I don't even know why Pentax continues to use the PEF format since all of their cameras now support DNG natively and have for many years. As far as I know there is no reason to use PEF at all.

Neat, but costs money.
