I hadn't bought a magazine in a while so when I realised the K-1 was making an appearance in the August edition of Practical Photography Mag (out of the UK) I thought I'd pick up a copy.
There's not too much to the article in question, it's titled: "6 of the Best - Super High Resolution Cameras"
The last paragraph in the introduction states: "Here we take a look at six of the most affordable high resolution cameras currently available, so you can find your perfect match." The qualifying statement means this is not a medium format article.
The six in question as rated by the mag are:
6th (3 stars) Olympus OM-D E-M5 MkII
5th (3 stars) Pentax 645Z
4th (4 stars) Nikon D810
3rd (4 stars) Canon 5DS & 5DS R
2nd (4 stars) Sony A7R II
1st (5 stars) Pentax K-1
Something for everyone it seems?
A very subjective list and no real explanation in the article just some spec info, lists of pros and cons and the star rating system. I get the feeling they've not actually shot with all of the cameras listed as to me this is the only explanation for the 645Z being 5th in a 'high resolution camera' article.
Some interesting points I noticed in this article: the image of the K-1 shows the 18-135mm lens, it's about high resolution but there's mention of the crop modes for the D810, 5D's and the K-1 yet there's not a mention of pixel shift.
Anyway thought I'd share what I learnt from my $13.95 'investment'.
