Self timer vs Mirror Lockup

My K20D offered a way to minimize vibration with the self timer, where the mirror went up at the beginning of the countdown. I assumed that the K-1 would do the same thing and have been using the self timer instead of ML when a cable release was not handy. Today I noticed that there was no sound at the beginning but since I used PS with the electronic shutter, the image was still sharp.

Has anyone else noticed this?

2 second self timer is the one with mirror lock up on my k-3. I suspect it is the same on the k-1.

Thanks for that info. You are probably right. Today was the first time I used the 12 second timer, and realized the difference. When I get the time, I will confirm this. Seems strange though.
