50-135

Can somebody show me images taken with 50-135 on K-1? And does it work well? Well enough for weddings in regards to AF. I plan on buying K-1 in near future.

I allready own K-3II so I would like to be able to use the lens on both bodies for starters.

It works well in crop mode on the K-1 It is most definitely not a full frame lens.

Leave it on your K-3 II and reserve the K-1 for wider FF lenses.

I don't have any pics handy, but the ones I took showed severe vignetting, and I mean about 15-20% of the entire frame. It's too bad, because the handling is fantastic.

Does it work with square 1:1 crop mode?

yes, 1:1 works well. Maybe some vignetting at the wide end but the kind that can be easily fixed in post if necessary at all. The hood is not compatible at 50mm (for 1:1, aps-c is of course fine) , beyond that is OK.

There are, of course, some K-1 + DA* 50-135 images in the Pentax K-1 Laboratory:

Hello

I recently took some jazz-concert photos with this lens on a K1 FF - and I think it worked quite well.

For what it's worth. Shot at 135mm in FF & PS mode.

I was about to sell my 50-135 (and 20-40), but 1:1 mode has me using it a lot once again.

I have tried that lens with both my K20D and my K-1.I am highly satisfied with it on my K20D but it won't auto focus with the K-1. My 2.8 200mm pentax works just fine on both bodies.
**** as an update it stopped working with either camera, Precision couldn't fix it and it's on a slow boat to the factory****

Here's a couple I took with my 50-135 before I got the 70-200. The original is cropped slightly because I straightened it and it took a little off the edges when I did that. I was sitting on the 40 yard line about 25 feet up in the stands when I took it. My son is #63 in the white jersey. I focused on him initially. At 1/250 seconds there is a little motion blur. I've got others at higher shutter speeds that are cleaner. Very little vignetting at 135 mm (shot in FF mode). I did run this through Topaz DN6.

It's very good on a K-1 crop mode:

at 50mm f2.8

at 90mm f8

at 135mm f8 (after some pp to clear the vignetting)

i would say that at 135mm, this is the only focal length that we can really use the lens on k1 although i did take another shot at 115mm which only shows very slight vignetting after some pp

at 115mm f2.8

not much difference at 135mm for f2.8 and f8..the vignetting clears up quite well after some pp

135mm at f2.8

Yes as with all other crop lenses it does default the camera to the crop mode so I make every effort to frame inside the inner rectangle in the view finder and it's all good. saving my money to invest in some good full frame glass so I either use my crop auto focus glass or my Spiratone 135 or Vivatar 260 manual full frame lenses from my ME Super days
