don't really know! has a C inside a triangle & circle serial #8824054 assuming from 1988?

it's a super piece of glass....the aperture is weird especially after not using it for a good while.....it's stiff as hell....have done a lil rosonol on it which sorta loosened it for a day but its stiff already again....

Hey Aaron, thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, from what I have learned the serial indicates it is most likely from 1988.

Odd that they were produced in M42 mount from the 1950's all the way through the 1990's.

And yes, these lenses seem to be awesome gems, although the newer versions are hit and miss for image quality. You appear to have gotten a decent newer copy, for sure.

As for the stiff aperture mechanism, it seems to be a common issue. And some have stiff focusing helicoids rather than stiff apertures. It must be something about the grease that was used during manufacture, coupled with the age of them. I have read that it can be remedied by a disassembly, thorough cleaning, and reassembly using proper lubricants.

I have an Industar 61LZ 50mm f2.8, and have coaxed some great images from it. I have been intrigued by the Soviet lenses, and wanted others since getting the Industar. I have a MC Helios 44K-4 f2 58mm on the way, and am searching for a Jupiter 9.

it kinda has both as its tight coming from f2 to stop down.....at times even unscrewing from the m42 adapter well loose anyways

I enjoy Russian glass.....have a helios 44m that is used often (very nice wish it had more blades), the zenitar 16mm fisheye k mount (finky thing for such a wide angle lens but focus and exposure need to very good for a decent image or its kinda garbage, will say that's trying to get something @f4 or so under 8 feet also the most expensive Russian lens in my small lot) and a tiny industar 50/3.5 (not used often but a sharp lens!)

would like a Jupiter 135for its many blades but I have too many 135s as is and have an old lentar that has many blades

I am so excited about this I am posting it everywhere.

Has anyone else got one sent to them?

This t-shirt showed up in my mailbox today. No note inside the envelope, and I had no idea it was coming. I don't mean to be unappreciative, because it is cool they elected to send one out to me, even in my size, but I really want the hotshoe cover.
