It's an interesting tactic - especially if it is indeed on-going - very nice for owners, but with the obvious drawback as far as Ricoh is concerned that all the reviews will have been done prior to these firmware updates - stability updates and bug fixes are one thing - new features are another - but any making a great camera better is fine in my books

No, but isn't it good to still know that there is stuff happening? Future is bright

Bringing the bulb timer introduced with the K-70 to the K-1 would be wonderful news, imho. If true, this fw update could indeed mark a change of direction for Ricoh wrt adding new features to previously released bodies... Here's hoping!

I have a K1 so I get the best tech updates for free, but it's too bad that non K1 owners can't benefit of those free updates.

I'd love to see new features offered downstream as well. The K-3 if it were able to support KAF4 would be great - if not so be it. Some additional features like the night vision option for the LCD and minor bits like that would show a level of caring for long term customers that would be awesome.

As to reviews being out of date - most reputable reviewers will follow up and post that they reviewed on xyz firmware and newer firmware adds these features... sometimes they will get another sample and update the review.
