windows 10 and K-1

Hi,

I'm having difficulty connecting the K-1 to windows 10 with usb:

- The K-1 have 2x64GB SD cards.
- I have upgraded firmware to 1.4
- usb connection set to MSC
- connect via usb micro to USB 2.0 port
- turn on camera, the k-1 makes a shutter noice and the screen go black

In windows nothing.

Should it work "out-of-the-box"? I also tried the lightroom plugin, starting the Tethered capture with usb connecting setting to PTP. The plugin issued a camera not detected.

USB drivers, cable?

Thanks for any tips or tricks.

Hi, I have stopped using USB cable years ago , all new notebooks have SD card reader although the new MacBook Pro has not.
Anyway I just connected K-1 to WIN10 and no problems.
Turn the PC on, plugin the USB to camera then to PC, Turn K-1 on, the orange SD acces light will blink number of times, the Pc5 will appear on the top LCD screen, you should be connected now.
good luck

I noticed, that connecting camera in hub did not work, but connecting straight in the same usb port in pc worked fine. Win10 sees the camera as new drive and everything works fine.
Connecting the cable at first, turning the camera power on next.

Check which USB port you are using. IF at all possible use a USB 3.0 port. Also confirm that you are using a USB 2.0 port and not an older USB 1.1 port. They all look similar and physically they will accept the USB side of your cable, but they are not always downward compatible.

Hi,

Thanks all. I ended up getting a SD reader. Work as a charm.

K1 in Lightroom

I had to download a plug-in to get Lightroom to detect my K1. Once installed, everything worked fine. Not a feature I would use unless I was in a studio setting..
