I do think these sales statistics (which people tend to mention every now and again) are complete nonsense and worth nothing. Consider this just a fun fact.

Agree on those statistics - the K-1 is 2nd DSLRs in "Digital Cameras" (after some cheap Canon toy), but 1st in DSLRs.
Still, it's nice seeing it increase in popularity or whatever they're measuring.

The biggest bias in these stats is that they are updated daily. The K-1 just had a lightning deal, hence it surged in the German Amazon rankings.

Still, it's nice to see such high demand!

It's already dropped to No. 3, illustrating the volatility of short-term rankings.

Still, it is pleasing to see the K-1 making a splash, for two reasons. 1. It may encourage 3rd party lens manufacturers to return to K-mount. 2. It may hasten Pentax's lens release plans.

UPDATE: 4 HOURS LATER Now at number 5 and plummeting. Pentax is doomed.

This is also a reflection that there arenʻt a lot of brick & mortar stores that carry Pentax and that most Germans or Europeans have to buy Pentax online.
In the US, Iʻm surprised that Pentax cannot be found at any national retailer like BestBuy.
Nevertheless, itʻs good to see that high ranking in Germany as I assume Canon and others are also having end of year sales.

It would be nice to see actual model by model sales released by the manufacturers, but obviously for all the companies, the cons of doing this outweigh the pros.

Flash deal is in the past and still the K-1 is the best sold FF DSLR on Amazon.
