Yes, also here in the Netherlands the price of the K1 went up by 200,- euros, for a second time.
When you compare the K1 introduction price and price development to that of the Sony A7rII, it now looks like this:

Sony A7rII - introduction price in 2015: 3599,- euros. Price drop per april 1st 2017: 600,- euros. Now at 2999,- euros
Pentax K1 - introduction price in 2016: 1899,- euros. Price rise 2016: 200,- euros. Price rise per april 2017: 200,- euros. Now at 2299,- euros.

I expect another price drop on the Sony A7rII before the end of the year. If Pentax comes with another price rise, their prices might eventually meet or even cross....

Chris

K-1 price has been pretty stable since launch. Currently about AUD $2650 - $2799. $2799 is close to what the store price was at launch.

The local distributor should not get any ideas about raising Pentax prices. It will just further marginalize the brand.

Nikon is currently giving generous cash back rebates on cameras & lenses (eg offering $400 cashback on Nikon D750 purchases as I write this), Canon similar, Sony just went through a round of price reductions, Panasonic has been slashing prices of their mirrorless, eBay has been running 5-15% of deals routinely on cameras. Etc. No room for Pentax price hikes at the moment here IMHO.

US $1783.99 at B&H this morning. That's €1681 and £1427.
For France, you need to figure in about 20% additional for the VAT (Value Added Tax) ... I would have loved to have paid near 1700€ for my K-1.

Price in Canada

I bought mine about a month ago for CAD$2399. Just checked the local pricing and it went up $200 standing today at CAD$2599. I am happy I pulled the trigger just in time.

A$2799 on the distributors website BUT that means zero, theres NO STOCK.So more than likely the next shipment will increase.

My K1 cost that price 11 months ago.

It's interesting to note the price increase differentials around the world, and to compare them with the deals on offer for rival system bodies. The "no stock" note from the Australian distributor supports the theory that the K-1 has been selling at the expected rate (or better), while the others are discounting to reduce unsold inventories (and they continue to add to the problem by releasing even more bodies). It would be good to know what the stock situation is elsewhere for the K-1, as well as the price.

Launch price was too cheap. Glad I bought mine at £1700 including grip.

As turnover in the high end camera market shrinks and wages rise in the developing world countries they're made, expect this stuff to become significantly more expensive.

So it's only Europeans that get screwed? When you include taxes an American K-1 would cost €2030.

Some large vendors in holland have gone down again to €2199 instead of €2299. The others will probably follow suit.
