Is it only affecting tethered shooters?

Image transmitter is not to be found in Europe. It is expensive and comes in a CD from some very distant place. I believe you cannot choose most Europeans languages and it seems to be a standard alone application. Nothing that will work with PS. I hope someone corrects me though. The firmware update is therefore probably not interesting for most of us yet, apart from the general performance thing. Let's hope this is the start of Pentax developing more modern software solutions. Looking forward to 1.5 allready!

I had no issues getting it in Europe for a cheap price quickly.

No, it now allows you to remotely shift the focus plane by a millimeter via pressing a software-button. For critical work in product photography this is a big thing. It's kind of "manual focus".

I hope Ricoh updates the wifi app to use these new features. The new live view magnification and focus features would be very nice for astrophotography.

Please Ricoh... Give us 5:4 or 4:3 crop mode in live view, and hopefully in the OVF overlay as well.
If the markings are not already etched into the OVF overlay they cannot be added without replacing the overlay with a new one.

fw 1.30 and 1.40:
FA77 need 0 AF Adjustment
FA43 need +3 AF Adjustment
---------------------------------------------
fw 1.41:
FA77 need 0 AF Adjustment
FA43 need -3 !

Otherwise I do not see any changes between fw1.40 and fw1.41, no hunting AF etc.

They added 1:1 crop via an update so I don't see why 4:5 wouldn't be possible too?

1:1 crop was in some pre-production cameras, so it was already planned. Likely, it didn't made in the first production firmware because of some bug.

Im really hoping that the 1.50 firmware will bring us new features and some improvements that were suggested to Ricoh.. that will keep the K1 alive and attractive to many more upcoming (and actual) users meanwhile the next K1 gen is out ( at least a couple of years from now i guess ). With this firmware i did not notice any change, will try it out more the upcoming days but so far.. still good

firmware1.41 is currently the best for me. FA43/1,9Limited focuses for the first time and accurately (fw1.30 and fw1.40 were not as good with FA43/1,9Limited)

test photos all on f1,9, AF-S, different distances and different light, profil Bright, JPGs from K-1, AF Adjustment -8

I'll try AF-C with DA*200/2,8 SDM, but that's not my priority, I photograph the landscape and portraits.

They could add 4:5 crop but if the indicators are not already etched into the OVF overlay they cannot be added to the OVF. You would only be able to have the crop indicators in LiveView. The overlay LCD is a purpose built display with a set number of objects and symbols etched into it similar to the displays on low end digital watches or the top LCD on the K-1. It is not a pixel matrix display (like the rear LCD or EVFs) and therefore you cannot "draw" new lines or objects.

Can you elaborate on that - are we talking about the K-1 being able to move the sensor to accommodate focus?

My FA31, which was sharp on K-3, was inexplicably soft on K-1 and there didn't seem to be anything I could do about it. I was just about to send it for bench calibration but after 1.41 it is (again inexplicably) sharp again.
