More than one K-1?

How many of you who are not professionals have more than one K-1?

When I am out doing a serious shoot (landscape, macro) I have considered it. Instead of changing lenses back and forth, just have two bodies with two lenses. I would also like to see how common this idea is.

I only have the one for now but would jump on another version if it offered the mirror-less feature of the k-01 with the full frame features of the k1

When I'm shooting professionally, or where I need a camera and cannot afford an equipment failure, I'll have at least two bodies sometimes three.

Regards

Chris

I used to use two K-3s and am considering two K-1s, but currently a K-3 with 50-135 (the best Pentax zoom I feel) and a K-1 with a prime on works well. However, the idea of two K-1s with a prime on each is disturbing my bank account ;-).

If I take out one body and swap lenses two things happen:
1) I miss things as I end up getting tired of swapping lenses.
2) I see things differently and feel that I actually improve my keepers when concentrating on one focal length.
... so what's best ?

A second K-1 with a prime on each maybe looks good, but I'll miss the reach the K-3/50-135 offers and there will still be times when I'll need to swap lenses. Maybe three bodies is the answer ;-)

A two body, small pair of primes does work well(ish) ergonomically and the weight is probably not that much more than a single body/ big zoom option. However, it can still be an annoyance managing both cameras slung from straps, plus all the other stuff I end up carrying. On balance I will probably settle on this two body, two small prime option as my default ...maybe ...

This is how I started thinking 6 years ago ever since I owned the K-X. Changing lenses does not work in event shoots. So I ended up in
K-x+17-50, K-x+55-300 combo, (May sell if I get a decent something at all for this)
K-5+16-50, K-5iis+50-135 combo (I used this to shoot professionally, still do at times)
and now K-1+(DA35/2.4 or DA*55/1.8 while saving up for the D-FA24-70, K-1+D-FA70-200 + BG)
Also have a dedicated macro setup on K-01 with either A-50/2.8 or D-FA100/2.8 WR in the bag just incase.

I have no hesitation in recommending 2 bodies with 2 lenses mounted on them covering 90-95% of the FOVs. A thing to note however is to keep both bodies configured exactly alike especially date time synced down to the second besides other things). The consequence if DT being off is the photos don't show up in the chronological order in the workflow (Can be fixed by editing the exif but it is a lot easier to sync the date and time).

For ex. "You may now kiss the bride" cannot show up before the exchange of rings or pronouncement in your presentations. LOL. A practical problem that you encounter in the post if you are shooting with 2 bodies.

I agree with the 'exactly alike'. I have all my user settings (on my K3s) the same, so whatever camera is being used is irrelevant. I would name the files something like K11xxxx and K12xxxx - wrap to 9999 and increment to K13xxxx and K14xxxx or whatever. To some extent the naming convention is of little real interest, if the cameras are set up the same.

And exactly that too except I use prefixes "K1_1" and "K1_2" for the files.
