I switch between WiFi and Crop. All other functions are intuitively found by my fingers after having two other Pentax bodies prior to my k-1

I don't use it.
I think I have it set to do ISO or EV comp, but years of using *ist DS, K-7, then K-5 have burned the old method into muscle memory. It also doesn't help that it is much harder to turn than the regular e-dial.

My cat has found a use for the control dial for the function dial. She likes rubbing her face against it.

ISO 99% of the time, crop mode for the other 1%.

Wish it could be use to toggle Pixel Shift settings.

I tend to expose for colours, so I usually have it on exposure compensation, makes it easier to nail it imho. Otherwise, wifi and crop mode is also nice.

I use the third wheel for configuration options like "Wi-Fi", "Crop", "SR' and "Grid".
I find it easier to choose the respective option and then turn the dial compared to using the menu system (including the custom menu which still requires navigation for most options).
Doing so allows me to keep the back LCD turned off most of the time, thus saving battery life.

I wish the top LCD provided feedback about the current configuration choice as non-binary choices that do not provide feedback in the viewfinder require the use of the status screen, which I normally don't use at all. Having said that, I prefer the use of the segment top-LCD Ricoh went for over the use of a matrix LCD which would have made it easier to display feedback about the configuration options.

I'd appreciate if I could use the third wheel for the value range options exposure compensation and ISO, but I find it to be unreasonably stiff for this purpose. I find it too hard/slow to move with just the thumb and find pressing the +/- button or "ISO" button in conjunction with the back dial is easier than using an extra finger on the third wheel.

Depends on the mode I think. If I'm in Tav then it's exposure comp, if in manual - iso. Sometimes crop

Wow! I didn't even realize that you could use it to turn SR on and off. To be honest, this old dog finds newer cameras incredibly complex devices. Maybe too complex.

ISO here. Sometimes nice in the middle of the night to just turn the dial instead of hitting the ISO button.
