Pull sharpness/contrast/saturation down a bit in whatever profile you wish to use.
Focus manually or AF before each shot.
Use a tripod or monopod.
Disable SR
If you want to do it correctly, use 24or30fps & your shutter at 1/50 and keep iso low. Outside this would probably require ND filters.. So you could just ignore & have the camera choose its settings..
Use the best lens you have.

As Adam mentioned, it will do the job. You can be your own judge regarding the quality.

I didn't notice much difference between the HD footage I edited which was a mix of my K-1 and my buddy's GH5, CDW. The scenes were talking heads, though.
The GH4 offers menu selection of CODECS ranging from highly compressed to very high bit rate for 1080. The K1 uses a low bit rate for video. As has been mentioned numerous times, and it applies to any camera capable of shooting in 4K, the best option is to shoot in 4K and scale down to 1080. This offers better quality than shooting natively in 1080.

Other problems besides low bitrate codecs for the K-1:
Useful.

Except for hardware issues (like mic and rolling shutter), I wonder if any of these are 'improvable' via firmware?

Not apparent in the footage I had to put together in Premiere Elements, CDW - 250 Gb of audio and 1920x1080 video, of a two hour event, from two GoPros, two MP3 recorders, Pentax K-1 and Panny GH5.

Just shows real world usage versus theory and specs.

Maybe 4k might have been noticeable, maybe not. Using a laptop with 8Gb of RAM rather than a workstation, I didn't want to know about it.

Your mileage may vary, as the saying goes. My observations have been using primes for comparisons, grading in post, not in the cams, and editing on a 30" 2.5K display and 55" 4K display. The differences were dramatic enough for me that I would never place a K1 1080 clip adjacent to a GH4 1080 clip, much less a 4K clip.

And FWIW, a workstation costing thousands of dollars is not necessary to edit 4K footage effectively. My 2012 vintage Mac Pro with 24 gigs of memory with an upgraded nVidia video card with Cuda drivers and Premiere Pro, works just fine.

I'm never going to have a setup like that, CDW, nor will most people.

I certainly can't speak to your personal situation, but in the US, purchasing a 5-7 year old MacPro on the used market and upgrading it with a 4-6 gig nVidia card and memory is about $1700. That's considerably less than a new 27" iMac with I7 processors. And Apple still sells a lot of iMacs loaded with 4K iMovie software. Even Fotomagico, $100+ slide/video show software, allows editing and outputting in 4K. My single core 2012 MBPro with 8 gigs of memory handles it with no problem.

Resistance to 4K from entrenched 720/1080 shooters reminds me of broadcasters in the US who, at first, years ago refused to transition to HD, claiming 480P SD was good enough.
