Sharpest K-mount lens with K-1? Any f-stop.

What is the sharpest K-mount lens + K-1 combination available? Is it the D-FA 28-105mm at 70mm and f/8?

If you're considering primes also, I would say the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art is VERY sharp.

I would unscientifically nominate the D FA* 70-200mm. Some pretty insane image quality!

Hopefully it won't be the D-FA 85mm 1.4 when it gets released.

I maybe just a tad bias, but some of my "Ladies" take a bit of beating.

You might want to rethink that statement.

Subjectively, my FA43 limited (I usually set it at f8) seems the sharpest in my collection (which includes some cousins of your "Ladies").

I second Adam's nomination of the DFA* 70-200. I call it the Mandelbrot lens, as it keeps on showing finer structure as you zoom in. It certainly out-resolves the K1 sensor, and is very sharp even wide open.

I wish you wouldn't all keep banging on about how good the D-FA 70-200 is, I can't afford another lens right now

At some point sharp enough is ‘sharp enough’. I have several 50mm - 105mm Macros that are amazing.

How sharp is the D FA 100 WR on the K-1? Or the D FA 50 f/2.8 Macro?

I have to say, The DFA 50mm/2.8 Macro is pretty darn sharp, I use it for product shots all the time, and the results are just fabulous in arong the f8-f14 range , also the slective f2.8 shots are also great.

If SHARP is the objective, then I don't know of anything sharper than the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art.

I think my three sharpest lenses would be the DFA 100 Macro, DFA 50 Macro, and 35mm Sigma Art.

Although their database shows that DxOMark have apparently tested NO lenses on the K-1 yet (despite testing the camera as long ago as Sept. 2016), the DxOMark database of K-mount lenses tested on a K-3 at least lets you sort a few K-mount lenses by sharpness. You just have to filter out the crop lenses when assessing them for K-1 use, I guess.

(But any list that ranks the Sigma 17-70 zoom as sharp as the D FA 100 macro must be considered very suspect).

Hmmm ... I don't know why but for some reason I forgot to consider primes! It must be one of those days.

Have there been any "objective" tests with something like the Sigma 35mm or the Pentax macros + the K-1?
