Also, they're offering an upgrade path for K-1 owners... you can part-ex your excellent-condition K-1 (10k shutter actuations or less) and pay £699 to get the new K-1. Pretty good deal, IMHO

Yeah, I saw that mentioned in one of the other threads, though I'm not sure which countries it applies to yet. It's a great offer from Ricoh, without a doubt. But existing K-1 owners will need to decide whether they want to upgrade an already-used camera for $550, or trade in that camera and pay a little more, in return for a brand new, latest model with fresh warranty. At least they have the choice

Bismillah

Pentax/Ricoh is potentially doing something very revolutionary. Imagine a camera that allows for swapping boards similar to how the GXR was.
Also the Pixel shift II, if it works well and it should, is a first and another example of Ricoh/Pentax's innovation. Between these additions, the improved high ISO and the improved AF algorithm the K1 II is a fair update. I love Pentax.

Aw, c'mon. Who's got less than 10k actuations on a K1?

Not for me.

Me either I am well and truely over. I haven't been able to find anything on the actuations for the upgrade in any of the official documentation but maybe my subconscious doesn't want to see it lol.

Hmm, how to check? I might be lucky, I have been doing a phote project for which my K-1 was a bit too bulky for my liking, and a bit too new and expensive .

It's in the exif of your most recent photo. Check with exiftool if you have it installed. Otherwise there's a utility on Pentax Forums; just upload a shot and it will tell you.

9,300 so I think it's a trade in for me, SRS are advertising end of March for the release date, and they've just confirmed that is latest expectation. This should keep me going until the next FF camera is unveiled, at appx £0.07 per shutter release, might make me think about using continuous shutter at next track event I go to !

Seems a better deal than sending to US for the upgrade (assuming it is worldwide offer) ??

On Amazon it says "Released 31 march" if they are anything to go with. I hope it's before that. Can't wait!
