TerryL posted today about image files not showing up on his SD card. After reading his post and lending a reply, I went to my K-1 this evening to attempt a transfer of two folders worth of photos shot in the last two days to my laptop. To my chagrin, card 1 had the DNG files but card 2 did not show any folders for those two days. I was shooting in DNG+ mode and the last time I shot, both DNG and JPEGs were produced on the corresponding cards. I tried one test shot after this and it showed up on card #2 as a JPEG in a folder with today's date, but the other two groups (one of which should be in a folder with today's date) just don't show.
I didn't want to hijack Terry's thread so decided to start this one. At this point I'm stumped. I'd like to recover the JPEGs if possible since converting the DNGs will take some doing (I need JPEGS to distribute to another party). Is there an in-camera way to create these from the DNGs as a group?
The shots show up on the LCD review but I assume these are coming from card #1 (if I remove that card, the recent images are gone).
My only possible thought is that while editing some of the other shots on the JPEG card (#2), I accidentally pulled it out of the card slot on my computer without ejecting one time, but why would that only affect the last two folders on that card? My other thought is that the last time I had the card out of my K-1, it didn't go back in properly (it was seated correctly as far as I could tell when I removed it this time) and wasn't making the necessary connections to be written to. Otherwise no theories.
Any thoughts appreciated. I kidded Terry about jinxing me
