Besides nor I nor - I suppose - the OP are Schoeller or Leibowitz or McNally or McCurry...
Yes, but while it may be impossible to own the same gear as the pros, it costs nothing to adopt their techniques, methods and strategies.

Except pride, perhaps.

Exactly what I meant: since I'm not a professional, I have little reason to feel pride about something that to me is a hobby.
I enjoy it, but I know I have so much to learn, and it couldn't be otherwise since it's not my main job.

I would hope you had pride in anything you did for enjoyment, LensBeginner.

And that you valued feedback about it from people that mattered - professionals, amateur peers or trusted friends.

I know you're a musician, and that's certainly how musos go about it!

Pride in the good sense, yes.
Conceit, no

Since I'm a I'm an academic I get plenty of peer review and I can confirm that it will only improve your work and work attitude. If only because you learn to ignore the idiots and haters out there.

There are people here who will almost certainly be able to help, but unless the OP returns with appropriate images demonstrating the issues, any further speculation is pointless.

The ball is in your court @Hildalill

Thank you all for your replies. Unfortunately for me noone seems to blame my camera equipment so there won't be an easy fix for me. I have a lot to think about as it seems to me that the best solution to my poor picture quality is to continue to educate myself and practice, practice, practice. I do have to be aware of the limitations of my technic and my lenses. I do hope I can develope the skills I see in other Pentaxians photographies. I too want to be able to get those sharp, no-noise photos that I know the K-1 is capable of.

Have a nice photographic summer you all!
Please don't take offense. It is just really tough to comment without photos. A couple of photos, with their exif intact, could perhaps help considerably with a direction for you to improve your photographs.
