I think the question is whether or not you had an original K-1.

I haven’t moved to a K-1ii, but I recall similar impressions when I first bought my K-1.

Hi Rob, answered that in post #7 & 8.... this is a K1 Mk 2....the real McCoy, not the upgrade.

Hi Mallee
I think the questions are
1,,,,do you own a K1 mark 1 as well,,

2 You answered this bit its not a K1 Mk1 and a half

Hope that is clearer, the written word on the internet is devoid of context so not everything written is understood as the same thing to the reader..

I got that you didn’t convert a Mk1. What I was asking was whether or not you previously had a Mk1.

No worries. I can see why you’re taken with the K-1ii, though.

I was thinking about upgrading mine, but then the D FA*50/1.4 started to loom large. So many shiny things...

Some shots from my wanderings with the "lesser" lenses....I am getting a bit fitter out of this. (emphasis on " bit " ).

Note: Minimal processing done on these with the exception of the stone cottage.

Tamron 28-300 @ 28mm Tripod. Previously posted. A shot that would please most photographers.

Tamron 28-300 @ ? 200+ mm. Tripod. Still ok, shot nothing great but it gives you an idea of what it does under these conditions.

Pentax SMC F 35-80 Handheld. Dull, grey, flat day. No pp on this what so ever, just converted to jpeg. Also used the Tamron on this day and it struggled.

Tokina ATX Pro 20-35 f2.8. I like this lens a lot and fights for a place in the bag with Sigma EX DG 24mm f1.8.. I am really undecided on these two.

Yet more proof that the MK II is utterly useless

Seriously, good to see some real world use with non-star lenses. And no surprise, the II does a splendid job in the right hands. Thanks for sharing!

The Sigma family got to show its stuff today. Both shots handheld.
The EX DG 24mm f1.8 is going to shade out the Tokina ATX Pro 20-35 f2.8 purely on image quality, I like the Tokina, like its focal range, but the Sigma is such a sharp lens and at the end of the day that's what I am looking for.

The EX DG 70-200 f2.8 has had a trip to the Sigma factory in Japan and is upgraded to K1 mount specifications and I struggle with packing the DFA 100 and DA* 200 in its place (it is really hard to leave the 200 home !!)....but it is such a handy focal range on full frame, so it is going to win out as well.
