I've found that you can crop a photo quite substantially and still have a decent shot.

Here's the original, as seen in Lightroom, no corrections:



This is a lily at my work, right next to where I usually park.

If you calculate, or try to visualise, the tiny bit of a 36x24mm sensor that's responsible for the part of the image in the final crop, it's deeply impressive!

Yes, I suspect so. Aaarghh. Would it not be nice if the same grip worked on K-5, K-3 and K-1!

Finally got the mark II and all my M42 Takumars are working out like magic: 50mm f1.4 and f4.0 macro, 28mm f3.5, 135mm f3.5 and Bayonnet 80-200mm f4.5. I have them set up with the AF at AF.S, the mode at AF and focus is right on confirmed with the "beep" and focus indicator just with a turn of the focusing ring with your spare index finger and your thumb of the AF button. Using pixel shift with those lenses makes for outstanding images for a fraction of the cost for those who don't need fancy AF systems.

NZ$292.00 + freight. (And possibly 15% GST on top of that) So that adds up a bit.

I'm looking at a secondhand one at the moment. That would avoid the GST. Additional duties only apply to items over about US$260. At which point duty goes to about $112.00 So, it pays to stay under that threshold.
