I completely agree about the zoom and primes and I also prefer only primes. But in this case, I bought the 28-105 a week ago just for the versatility and weather resistance. Am also not sure if I will get my samyang 14mm 2.8 on time and hence bought this zoom only a week ago.

Finally received the replacement copy of the Samyang 14 2.8 and did a quick test indoors. Apparently the infinity focus is off and the focusing at 3 Meter marking is sharper than infinity with subject at 5 meter in distance. Can't rely on the focusing scale which is a bummmer. Looks like I have to test the lens on the trip since I don't have time for another replacement . Also there is KR marking on the lens and I don't recall seeing it in previous version that I initially had.

I did a solo bike packing tour for 1 week in April.

Wonderfully beautiful place.

I brought the 14, 31, 77 and used the 31ltd like 80% of the time.
I'd say the 14mm and 28-105 will do very well and there is no need for the other lenses.
