Has anyone bought a L bracket for the K1, for placement on a tripod?
I am going up to the Snowy Mountains NSW, Australia at the end of the month for some landscape photography.
I would like a L bracket before I go.
I use the Really Right Stuff BK1-L set. It's not cheap ($120 from B&H) but it's a quality product and works perfectly. It leaves the battery door clear when mounted - you can see various views of the mounted product in the pics on the B&H site:

Well I finally got a L bracket for my K1 with Manfrotto tripod. I got the Manfrotto MS050M4-Q2 L Bracket. This fits my tripod quick release mechanism. The only problem is that this L bracket is made for a camera with a motordrive. So I cannot centre the lens to be equal in both landscape and portrait orientation. Otherwise it fits well to the K1. I don't think this will be a big problem.

Can you post an image of battery door/ plate and the the vertical bit so I can see how the input/output align with the plate? (Like for example if one were to shoot portraits tethered).

Cheers

Ok, will post soon. The underside of the bracket covers the battery door.

Thank you!

I too have the 15-30... does it feel secure on your tripod in the portrait orientation?

I have only got the setup, camera, lens and L bracket recently. Will be going away next week for 3 days of landscape photography. Will report back then.

Back from my landscape 3 day shoot. L bracket worked very well in portrait and landscape mode, very secure.
