I think both IBIS systems are perfectly fine in use for still shots like architecture. Go with what feels most comfortable and what lens ecosystem is better suited to your current and future needs.

Off the cuff comment: what about your optics preferences for the planned tasks? Sony bodies seem to attract choices from several top makers whereas Pentax bodies can be fewer choices? I am a decades old Pentaxian, but also use some others for specific lenses & images...like indoor venues. Just sayin’ that the whole workflow for the contract should be looked at for the new tools buy....if it were me.

I love how pentaxians are not afraid to tell others that another brand can be better.

I don't depend on IBIS. IBIS is great for images where if you get it fine, if you don't now big deal.

But if you do insist on IBIS, I'd suggest shutter speeds no lower than 1/6s and taking a burst, at least 4 images, so you can select the best one.\

Shooting with my K-1
1/15s, Logger's day at the local park, all natural light, not artificial light at all in these buildings.

1/15s ƒ 4.5. 6400 ISO

ƒ8, 3200 ISO, .4s

I don't know Sony at all. All I'm saying here is you can get it done with a K-1

I know this started with a question about IBIS, but I'd also be looking at the low light capabilities given the indoor environment. I have just received my K1-II, upgraded from a K-1. My initial impression is pretty tremendous. I always felt the K-1 was great in low light, but the K-1 II takes it to another level. Also, I have yet to play with hand held pixel shift, but that sounds like it might be of interest to you. Do note that it requires the processing to occur in camera, and this seems to throw people who try to process the files in other software - they end up saying the hand held pixel shift doesn't work not realizing the processing isn't supported in applications like LightRoom.

Yes, I think for an architectural specialist, Canon is well served by Tilt Shift lenses.

Bingo! Right tools for the job at hand! Or a P67 with tilt shift etc.

I've been waiting or a product that can tether my iPad to a camera before thinkingg about tilt shift. I can't imagine trying to accurately view a tilt shifted image on that tiny little back screen.
