There is more than one tool going by that or similar names. The one that has worked best for me is written by Bogdan Hrastnik and is available through the a post to the forum on the ExifTool Web site. The program is not being actively maintained, but I using it with the current version of ExifTool and have found it stable and useful.

Latest ExiftoolGUI version 5.16

The page has additional links to information about the program as well as usage.

You should be able to find free tools that remove the GPS info without touching anything else. I downloaded one for Windows five or six years ago.

Photobucket had an option to remove the data on files you uploaded. I'd imagine most of the image hosting sites have the same option.
