Take deep breaths. DT's can be hard to get through. But you can do it. Your baby will be back soon.

Stay Strong.

Although I am worried when you said you sent it last month? Granted that was 4 days ago, how long will it be gone?
I received a phone call from the repair depot in Ontario when they received the camera. The rubber seal that was damaged had to be ordered and I was told it would take two weeks to get it. I'm thinking that was three weeks ago, so perhaps they have the camera part now and I will get the camera back before Christmas. At least here's hoping.....

I find myself using my K-3 more and more, the weight and portability versus my K-1 is the #1 reason.

They do start to feel like a ton of bricks.

It is a tank, and I love that it is a tank. But there are times, I get tired of carrying a tank.

I can’t imagine carrying one with a neck strap or wrist strap all day. I have a small day pack since a brick/tank can be heavy and awkward at times.

I have a Black Rapid shoulder strap that works great when I haul my K1 around. Just have to be careful around doorways. Very comfortable and I have used it for hours at a time too.

I have one of the generic copies of the Black Rapid that works well. I could not imagine walking around for any decent amount of time without it.

I also like that it straps around both shoulders to provide more support but also not something a person could grab and run and just take the strap off of one shoulder like a purse strap is.

I can't find any reason to upgrade from my K-3. It does everything well, I'm not sure the K-new will even tempt me?
The pixel shift and high iso performance are what I think appeal to me as features if like but don't have as a fellow k-3 owner sitting on the fence.

I went from the K-5 to the K-1 because my first love is Nightscape photography. So high ISO performance is required. The K-5 is awesome, but the K-1 is better.

Now I just need to stay with the K-1 and use and abuse it until it does. Hopefully in many years.

the KP results seem pretty close to the K-1 but pretty close is still not the best you can get which I suspect matters in nightscapes sometimes.

Yes, I probably should have gone the KP route and saved money. But at the time, I wanted the best. Plus FF vs APS-C and the larger view area is nice.

But beyond that, the KP would have worked just fine.

Well my K1 Mark II came back home from repair on Monday. Nice to have it back. I've put it through a number of tests and it looks like my focus issue has been fixed. Sun Microsystems replaced one of the rubber water seals as well as replaced the back focus button. Seems to have done the job. I can now go back to shooting in the rain.
