Downsizing from K-1but what to ?

Hi guys
look I really like the K1 everything about it really
but it's just not getting enough use for what I've got invested in it.
thinking of the ks2 as economical and like 80% of a k-3 apparently.
I've still got the da21 da40 da55-300 as well as the marvelous Sigma 8 - 16
I crept into full frame lens world with the 77 and the 43. I could sell the 43

no one sells 77 eh ?

I like that the ks2 has articulated screen and some form of Wi-Fi
not worried about pixel shift not worried about 12 bit raw
might be worried about no top display though :-(
I don't seem to notice it on my Q7 or k-01 though so might be moot

Any thoughts much appreciated
cheers

the K 3 and K 3 II comes to mind as well

I wouldn't sell the FA 43mm Limited but that is just me

K-S2 vs K-3
The Pentax K-S2 is now very similar in price to the outgoing flagship, the K-3 (which is turn nearly identical to the K-3 II flagship that replaced it). While the K-3 continues to have better image quality, ergonomics, and autofocus, the K-S2 does feature a few innovations not found in the K-3, including:

Articulating LCD
In-camera clarity enhancement
Built-in Wi-Fi/NFC
Facelifted menu system
If these features are of interest to you or if you would rather have a smaller and lighter body, the K-S2 might be worth choosing over the K-3.

As a mid-range model, the KP skips on high-end features such as dual card slots, a top LCD, or a 1/8000s maximum shutter speed which you'd find on the (now aging) K-3 II APS-C flagship. Still, it holds an edge over this outgoing model through improvements such as an enhanced menu system, built-in Wi-Fi, pixel shift super resolution with motion correction, depth of field bracketing, and bulb shooting up to 20 seconds— the list of fancy features normally reserved for high-end models goes on. We can't end this review without mentioning the KP's tilting LCD screen, which makes shooting from the hip or above the head a breeze.

It's hard find many faults with the KP as it's really quite a solid performer overall. One thing that stood out for us is that the camera lacks an infrared remote port— something that has been standard on every other Pentax DSLR model. As a alternative, you can use the fairly scarce CS-310 cable release (which plugs in to the microphone port), or a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter plug along with the CS-205 cable release from other Pentax models.

Apart from this, the ergonomics of the smaller body can be hit-or-miss for users with large hands, or users who favor large lenses. We found the dedicated grip on the Pentax K-3 II to be more comfortable with such lenses, while the KP felt more at-home with compact Limited primes and smaller zooms.

Finally, there are the common weak points of Pentax: continuous autofocus that's good but not cutting-edge, and a video mode which falls into a similar category. That said, the KP does quite well when shooting videos at high ISO.

From an image quality perspective, there is not much more to ask for in a DSLR and the Pentax KP is up there with the best that the APS-C format can offer.

I wonder what the OP's budget is

and whether there is any interest in types of photography which might make one of the different choices more interesting ?

How about the less expensive K-70 then? Essentially the same image quality as the KP - they both use that Accelerator thingy - but the K-70 has a bit lesser performance and a louder shutter. I like my K-70 a bunch.

Thanks for the links I had forgotten about the KP and was going too cheap possibly :-)
I hadn't thought of the k3 line interesting I think the fixed LCD would feel like a step back with how I use it the K1 screen is fantastic
My 43 deserves to get more use I'm just wasting it but I will try it in crop for a while and see what I can make of it
the $k64 question was what am I photographing thank you !
nothing specific at the moment which is part of the problem I'll do a motorbike race I'll do an air show macros of flowers bird in the tree and product photography though mainly using the FA50 Macro on the k-01 for that

The K-70 and all your current lenses will give you a great lightweight kit. The FA43 and FA77 are still fantastic on crop.

If you like the K-1, the KP is closest to it in performance. But if you are really trying to save cash, the K-S2 is pretty good.

budget constraints preclude that direction
