Yep, first place I go in opening a manual for on a new piece of equipment is the back and rear pictures with labels of the controls and interfaces.

Wait. People are saying to read the manual???

What? Real men do not need to read the manual!

Unless you need to fall asleep real quick. Then read it.

Oh yea /s

I read manuals - when they are useful. The modern camera manuals are pretty terrible. I bought the e-books from this site - much better. I'm sad that the K-3iii will not get an e-book from our departed friend. Older manuals are actually useful.

Why do I read them? My dad didn't. He called them corrections. Not instructions. How many times I wished he read them. I am not my father.

You can’t turn the rear display off AT ALL

Sure, you can turn it red for low light, but it is still very annoying that it simply does not have an option to turn off.

At least not that I have found.
Sure you can. And if you turn off instant preview also, you can take as many as 5330 RAW shots on a single set of AA batteries as I did last night as a test.
Displays are the biggest battery eater by a long shot.

I’ve also found the KP is a good tutor.

There have been a couple things I’ve done on the KP, only to think, “wow, I wish my K1 did that...”
Then I go back to the K1, and sure enough, it works the same way...

It’s simultaneously irritating and satisfying...
