Compared to the K50 ISO performance is definitely better. For routine shooting outdoors in dark environments like we often have here in Newfoundland I have started using 400 rather than 200 as a default and can see no falloff like I could with the K50. This really, really helps with my consumer grade telephoto 55-300mm in particular as SR works much better for me at like over 1/30 sec than at less than 1/30 sec. Or, it allows me to stop down a bit which also helps with that lens.
