K-70 mains adapter now available

I send a question to Digit-Photo in France about the adapter, they checked with their supplier, send me an email that it would be for sale in three days, and now it is.

K-AC168E (K-70)

If it's for sale in Europe, I guess it's for sale everywhere,

have fun,

Igor

What's different from the earlier AC adapters that use a battery adapter such as K-AC128?

It is an AC power supply for the K-70 with a plug appropriate for European power outlets.

Good question. I don't believe the illustration is accurate. The K-AC 168 is the recommended unit for the K-70, though it is not clear how it differs from the K-AC 128.

There is no difference. The photo in the link above is missing the DC coupler part that takes the place of the battery. Refer our database entry for the K-AC168.

Hi CSA,
with this item you can power the camera from the grid/mains/power outlet. That is useful if you want to make long interval sessions, even if your not present . Or if you shoot video indoors.

As usual, no positive response to this announcement, this forum seems to attract people who like to complain, very sad.

All I asked was how is it different? How is that complaining? Is it compatible with the K-50, K-S2 etc. Can the earlier K-AC-128 be used instead? After all my D-AC50 for the K10D is compatible with the later Pentax DSLR that use the same jack.

I liked your post. Happy now? Sheesh....

I suppose this is happy news for people needing the adapter and have not been able to get one that will work with the European-style power outlets. I am glad that Pentax/Ricoh has finally provided stock to vendors.

As for the comments...most users on this site are unaware that their cameras may be adapted to AC power. Others have no clue why that would be useful. Those that know why it is cool are curious as to how the K-AC 168E is different from similar adapters used with the K-30/K-50 range. They may be complainers (very sad), but I don't see it on this thread.
