K-70 and DA*50-135, a marriage made in heaven!

I often cringe when I see people combining the K-70 with somewhat suboptimal lenses such as the 18-135 or even 18-250/270 superzooms. The sensor of this camera simply outresolves any lesser lens and at the same time ruthlessly displays lens errors. I've been shooting my DA*50-135 ever since my K20D and count myself amongst the lucky ones as I never had SDM issues (knock on wood) either. However, I have a feeling that none of my previous bodies (K20D, K-5, K-5 IIs) were as capable as squeezing as much out of the 50-135 as the K-70. Even the balance of the lens on this particular body seems good - maybe better than on the K-5 form factor.

Just a few shots done over the weekend while walking the dog in the local small forest/park, processing as usual with Digikam and Gimp - the latter updated over the weekend to the newly released 2.10

The DA* 50-135 is a fine lens indeed, and your images certainly attest to this.

The DA* 50-135 is a wonderful lens, one of my more heavily used. Captured loads of lovely images with it!

I don't know why you would "cringe" at using an 18/135 lens?

I like my 18-135mm on my K70, it's a jack of all trades and yes, quite possibly master of none. It's really an extension of 'The best camera is the one you have with you'. I don't believe for a moment there is a perfect lens, until such time I'll try to 'make do' with my 18-135mm.

I've been quite happy with my K-70 paired with my suboptimal 18-135. Especially considering the $600.00 price difference to the 50-135. These are the first two examples I found.
