Will the pair of Yongnuo 603 ii work as a wireless shutter release for K-70?

Hi,
I have two questions first one is in the title* and if the answer is yes here follows the second one:
2. As I understand I need a micro jack 2.5 (Yongnuo) on one end of the cable and mini jack 3.5 (K-70) on the other. Any ideas where to look for short (and preferably with angled plugs) cable for the setup?

Planned setup:

Camera on a tripod with one Yongnuo 603ii set as receiver in the hot shoe and second Yongnuo in my hand.

Any advice welcomed.

It should, assuming you get the Pentax-flavor model.* The shutter cable should be included if you buy a pair as a kit.

Steve

* The version sold as Pentax-compatible is actually the C1 intended for certain Canon models. Pentax, Canon, and several other cameras use the same spec plug as well as the same action for half-press and full-press. Hot shoe compatibility is generally better with the Nikon-specific variants, but the Canon might work well too.

I think the answer is "Yes, it can be done, but you are going to have to work for it." The setup that worked with previous Pentax models was the Nikon version of the RF-603, but with the (Canon) C1 cable, which has 2.5mm connectors on both ends. You are either going to need a 2.5mm-3.5mm adapter, or a different cable (see thread linked below for discussion of the adapter). So far as I know, YongNuo does not make a 2.5-3.5mm cable. I have seen shutter cables on eBay with a 2.5 on one end, and a 3.5 on the other, but the right angle plug is on the 2.5mm end (the brand is Vello). I can't say whether they will work with the K-70. Good luck!

Thanks for filling in the blanks here. I had a follow-up post with the link to the wired remote thread, but you beat me to it.

Enquires about the trigger you got working for the K-70

Yongnuo RF603N II + JJC CS-310 cable, with switches on the RF603N II switched to RTX mode, for wireless shutter release. This does work on a Pentax K-70. It worked flawlessly when I tested it last night (October the 5th, 2023)
