K-70 purchase

just bought a K-70; felt it was time to upgrade from K-30. I shoot with 15,21,40 and 70 primes...love to shoot with this kind of compact setup. It reminds me why I went to Pentax in ancient film days. I also shoot with a Fuji X-e1 and wish Pentax would make a similar mirrorless...pentax primes would be perfect for similar body ..of course I am probably the only person that would like to see this.

I found the K-70 to be a significant upgrade from the K-50. Especially in more difficult lighting and with the increased color depth. You should like it especially with good primes.

Congrats! Certainly a worthy upgrade

I have had mine for about two months and although I cannot compare it to other DSLRs, I am very pleased with the photos and the versatility with in-camera setting and what can be done post processing. Good shooting.

Congratulations! I too am new to the K-70, having received mine just two days ago.

So far I'm really liking the K-70. Previously I've owned the K3ii and the K3. While both are wonderful cameras, I believe that I just may end up liking the K-70 a bit more than these other cameras - mostly because of it's wonderful ergonomics (love the grip/buttons/weight).

While the K-70 has the same wonderful pixel shift and sensor based shake reduction that I've come to love in the K3ii and K1 cameras; the K-70 has a new feature that I've never used before called "catch in focus". I can't wait to try that out for the first time!

The single SD memory card slot could be a concern to some. I've found that memory card slots are a weak link in digital cameras and can fail completely on their own at the most in-opportune times. But I've found a work around to that concern. I put a 64GB SD card in my K-70 and will never remove it. Instead of taking the SD card out of the K-70 to download it to my desktop, I instead use a cord to attach the K-70 to my computer. So, without the constant insertion and removal of the K-70s memory card, I'm hopeful that the single memory card slot in my new K-70 will last for a long time.

The K-70 might just produce the best IQ for the money of any camera on the market today.

Good choice. I started with a K-50. Upgraded to K-3. Broke my K-3. Went back to using my K-50 while waiting for K-3 successor to hit the shelves. Got tired of waiting and last January bought a K-70. It's a great camera. I've said it a dozen times and I'll say it again. A lot of bang for your buck with the K-70. You won't be disappointed.

I bought a K70 at the start of the year and love it. It rekindled my love of photography, and I can't offer a finer compliment than that.

Started with a K110D, then a K70, now K5 & K3.
i miss the 70, it's a great camera, low light high iso performance is dreamy, wireless without flu, etc etc etc
The 3 & 5 are great cameras and suit my clumsy mitts and shooting style, but my partner now has my 70 and I still grab it from time to time. it is that very Pentax of cameras, a body with a certain something that sets it apart.
Enjoy your time with it, I put about 4000 images through mine and it's a very pleasant memory.

Jumped from a K200D to the K-70, amazing.

Same colour rendition, but the low light performance is amazing.
I was limited to ISO800, now easily go to ISO6400 with no degradation in the image.

Love the flexi viewing panel, had it on an old Canon A80, makes over head and down low shots so easy. Wonder why it took so long to appear.
Also Live View makes it easier to get great pictures from my manual lenses, now that my eye sight isn't that great.

Next thing to try out is averaging of multiple shots to get that silky water shot on a waterfall or beach scene without having to use a ND filter.

So much to grow into, expect it to be my camera for at least 10years.

Congratulations I've been a proud K-70 owner for a few months now, but have only grown prouder with time. This camera punches way, way above its weight class. I've gone from envying my GF her Sony A7sII a lot to ... not at all. Now I just want some better lenses

Congrats on the k70, I bought mine as an upgrade/replacement for my trusty old k-r some time back and it has consistently punch above its weight class (IMHO).
