What is your plan if the seals fail? (Just curious)

One of my favorite sayings is “Just because you can. Doesn’t mean you should.”. I look at WR as allowing me not to panic if say a sudden downpour unleashes on me or I would like to grab a couple of shots in some nasty weather. But to intentionally doing what you did and I’m guessing that it was salt water on top of it. Is tempting the camera gods to make you pay. Remind me to never purchase any used gear from you.

So is the lens still not working, KK?

Neither it nor the camera are certified to be waterproof, and damage from water or mud are not covered by your warranty, have a read of your booklet!

I would suggest you read the difference between "weather resistant & water resistant" here is a good article.

" Again, keep in mind that “weather sealed” is not “waterproof”. An unexpected dunk in the river could be the demise of even an expensive professional-grade camera. Electronics notoriously do not mix well with water. A good rule of thumb would be that if you have to dig out your rain gear to protect yourself from the elements, then your very expensive camera and glass should have some protection as well. Check out this article for some ideas for protecting your gear without breaking the bank."
