Takumar Super Multi Coated 300 mm

My Takumar SMC 300 mm had been collecting dust for ever so long, before I gave it a chance on the K-70. Focussing was not easy, but the result (1600 iso, 1/250, f 5.6) really made me happy..
Of course subject, a sleeping deer was lying in a beautiful pose and the post processing helped.

Very nice it reminds me I should probably use mine more. Ever since I got a newer 300/4 that does a whole lot better for astrophotography the S-M-C 300/4 Takumar has been waiting for me to want to use it on my spotmatic which doesn't see much use. I did always like that lens for shooting in normal lighting situations but it isn't super good for astro and since the other 300 is always in the bag it see all the action.

A very unusual and interesting capture. I don't recall ever seeing deer sleeping, and certainly not like this.

Wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing it. Please dust off that lens often and show us more.

Outstanding picture!
About the Takumar on the K-70... never underestimate the power of peak focusing, personally it helps me a lot with manual lenses.

Thanks a lot shyrsio. Now I must give it a try on my K-1. Yes, you are right..
