On/Off switch a bit stiff in one direction

I don't know if it is a feature to avoid accidental powering off of this model but I find it noticeably resistive to rotation when I shutdown my camera ( all fine when turning it in the opposite direction ). I someway found a trick for that annoying characteristic, I put my finger on top surface on the camera, I place my finger at the very end of the switch and I am careful not to exert any downward pressure. This way, at least to me, the required force to rotate the switch counterclockwise remains within the limits of what I consider normal. Anyone else here find this DSLR inconvenient on that specific point?

Thanks in advance for you opinions guys, R.C.

That doesn’t sound right, if this is under warranty I would send it in before it breaks off. That’s not normal for any camera.

I'll agree with ramsbuckeye, my K-70 is much like any other of my Pentax bodies (except the KP), with a very "symmetrical" degree of pressure required to operate the switch.
I'd suspect the weather seal under the switch may have got unseated or broken … well worth having it looked at, especially if still under warranty!
Good luck

FWIW, I find the KP a little "unusual" to use, with the slightly re-arranged switch/button arrangement, but none of them are "stiff".

Thanks to both of you, guys. Now, it is just a slight difference in required pressure and after good reflexion, after retesting it again about 10 times, I don't think there is something wrong with this unit... I am new to DSLRs and I think I overreacted to this characteristic of my unit so I am sorry if I required your attention on it with insufficient reasons. Thanks again. :-)

There's no wrong questions, only wrong answers
Enjoy

Both my K5 and K3 have very stiff on/off switches. It is a common Pentax flaw that develops over time. Both these cameras have spent a lot of time in the tropics, which I think is the cause.

No. Only after my son took them into SE Asian jungles for extended periods.
