About my camera flash settings

Hey guys,

I am using an external Godox flash along with a trigger of the same brand and everything is working fine... Now, on my camera, to be sure the signal will always be sent to the trigger and therefore to the flash when I shoot, I set the flash setting to Always on but, just by curiosity, do I really have to?

Thanks once again for you precious help, R.C.

Best guess would be "try it and see"
You'll need to find another K-70 owner with a similar flash setup to confirm … a combination that might be thin on the ground.
Good luck

I am pretty sure that setting only applies to the built in flash. The camera will know if you have attached an external flash (or trigger) to the hot shoe and will power the flash (trigger) for each shot.

That is exactly what my intuition tells me, I just wanted to get confirmation of this. Curiosity, my friend... lol

Out of curiosity, have you been able to get your K-70 to auto expose properly when using the external flash? I've hooked mine up to my Elinchrom strobes but have to take a flash reading and set everything up manually, I thought this camera would be able to play nicely with an external flash but it seems like that is not the case, perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

Oh! unless you are using a TTL version of an external flash, you will have to set everything manually.

P-TTL, specifically.
